April 26: Lourdes - Last day in France

We awoke to overcast and drizzles of rain. Our walk to the Sanctuary was wet but not terribly cold. We had a lovely private Mass at the St. Gabriel chapel (just off the upper basilica of the Immaculate Conception) with Father Michael presiding and served by (my better half) Deacon Ken.
The remainder of our day was spent on our own - to explore, pray, reflect, and shop for last minute souvenirs for those back home.

We visited the Upper Basilica before filling up our water bottles and praying the Hail Mary in thanksgiving for all our blessings and graces here at Lourdes.
Pope Francis ' funeral was aired locally at 10 am today - so watching that is on the agenda. Relaxing and reflecting is the order of the day. We will be leaving France tomorrow morning - saying good bye will be difficult. If any additional noteworthy events occur tonight, I will be sure to revise this post. Rest assured that we continue to pray for everyone in our parish and all we promised to pray for.
